DUKE NUKEM Nintendo 64

Controlling Duke Nukem

There are several different control configurations you can choose from the Options menu when you first start the game. Several of them aren’t set up to give you ready access to all the things Duke needs to do.

We think the "Control Stick Look." is the optimum configuration. This layout enables you to control Weapons and Items with one hand, while the other controls movement. Although control setup is based on personal preference, you’ll find that in order to do it all, this is the configuration to choose.

Right Hand: Movement— Forward, Back, Strafe Left, Strafe Right—is controlled by the yellow "C" buttons. Direction of travel is dictated by the Control Stick. You can also use the Control Stick to LOOK UP and LOOK DOWN using this configuration. The shoulder "R" button is used to JUMP or Fly/Swim UP, and the green "B" button is used to CROUCH or Fly/Swim DOWN. Press the blue "A" button to USE items such as Access Cards, open doors, and to activate elevators and switches.

Left Hand: The shoulder "L" button is used to ACTIVATE items from Inventory once selected. The Left-Right axis of the "+ Control Pad" is used to select WEAPONS, and the Up-Down axis is used to select INVENTORY items for use
